ABOUT ME
Hi there! My name is Scott. If you are visiting this page it is because you are interested in the story of Sword & Shield Studio. Well, go ahead and grab yourself a nice beverage and let me fill you in on how this whole deal came about.
For my entire life I have had a fascination with media, arts, and technology. From a young age I loved using computers, taking them apart, and using them to create. In high school I picked up a little JVC camcorder that I used to record and edit videos with my friends. These were of course terribly done parodies…but it was a start, and I had all the tools I needed to start creating.
Fast-forward a bit—I attended college at The University of Texas at Dallas where I earned a BA in Emerging Media & Communication and a MA in Arts & Technology. Within these multidisciplinary programs I focused on Video Production, Sound Design, and Multimedia Art. I followed my interests and worked a few video production internships. Through these opportunities I gained experience in the video surveillance industry, digital marketing, and internal communications for higher education.
Back to the present. I can celebrate almost seven years of working full-time in Multimedia and Video Production. I have produced TV commercials and brand-level video marketing campaigns. I have created motion graphics and logo animations for major wholesale and higher education brands. I have engineered and produced live streams for fashion shows, graduation ceremonies, and guest talk shows. I have sat down and interviewed more people on camera than I can count. Ultimately, I am doing what I dreamed about doing for a living full-time. What more could I possibly want?

Sword & Shield Studio is a multimedia education platform, YouTube channel, and post-production studio that everyone can learn from and enjoy. Clarity, decency, and resourcefulness are the core values that define this platform and our approach to sharing knowledge.
We are dedicated to providing clear, concise, explanations of not only how to do something, but also why. This is an important element missing from education platforms more focused on churning out rapid ‘content’ rather than creating a wider contextualized understanding of the material at hand. Seeing the big picture in perfect clarity is often the difference between being stuck in tutorial hell and true comprehension.

Every person engaged with us can expect a baseline of respect and understanding in our interactions, all we ask is that you compose yourself in the same manner. Really, it is straight forward for us—civility is the default, not the exception.
